The Taniwha class boat proves that great capability can still be had with small tools. This is a stable platform for a range of payloads but is also capable of extremely fast relocation for emergency events such as life saving or pursuit. It can be highly customised for specific operations and can carry specially equipped deck mounted pods with a range of payloads including, emergency communications, medical supplies, life jackets and many other task specific units. It even has a modular "hangar" for drone deployment and is capable of ejecting supplies away from the craft.
The Taniwha comes in two base variants. The XD craft is "Z motor, propeller driven" for greatest speed and endurance. The XJ craft is a "water jet drive" which enables the craft to operate in extremely shallow water environment of only 100mm. Both craft are a watertight construction with "wave piercing" hydrodynamics. Although capable of open ocean operations their primary area of activity are coastal regions, harbours, lakes and rivers.
It is highly transportable, can be deployed and operated by one person.
