X-craft Enterprises is one of New Zealand's most well established and respected autonomous system specialists. The company originated as a Research and Development organisation focused on the design, development and prototype manufacture of robotic craft for the sea and air. The primary sectors of operations are unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) also known as unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and unmanned sea vessels, commonly known as unmanned surface vehicle (USV).
X-craft designs, builds and operates fixed wing aircraft, multirotor aircraft, hybrid VTOL aircraft and various sea craft. We are internationally recognised as specialists in disaster response, including search and rescue operations, with many platforms designed specifically for this area of operations.
As well as developing unique aircraft and sea craft platforms, X-craft conducts many types of commercial field operations with a wide range of sensor payloads. Standard payloads include, Infra-red (IR), multi-spectral imagery (MSI), LiDAR, radio tracking systems and custom communication relay systems.
X-craft also develops unique custom systems for unmanned craft. Past projects have included award winning tracking systems, air deployed data capture sensor units, relay communication, wireless charging gimbaled landing pads for sea operations and airborne deployment systems, all of which are directly related to unmanned air and sea platform operations. These both enable and expand existing capabilities of unmanned craft and open a range of task specific solutions.
X-craft provides extensive consultancy services. With a strong background in R&D, X-craft has excellent international connections within the scientific community and therefore has a comprehensive knowledge of leading edge technologies. X-craft is particularly involved in developing complete system solutions, not just the hardware involved but the total information chain, identifying the data targets and maximising the information output. We start with accurately identifying the problem and develop the best possible solution.
X-craft has developed partnerships with several international companies who are specialists in components and payloads. This includes gimbal systems with various optical, infrared and non-optical elements such as the UKR Spec systems. This also includes ADS-B from and RIB systems, communication relay, advanced hardware and software sensor systems such as the world leading uAvionix company. In addition to this we undertake our own R&D projects for clients requiring specialist capability to develop custom aircraft solutions.
X-craft is proud to be a member of the UAVNZ industry body organisation and holds New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority Part 102 certification which demonstrates our commitment to the highest safety standards, code of conduct and values of professionalism.
X-craft is the architect of the Rescue Robotics project, a system that brings a uniquely holistic rapid response approach to any Emergency Event.
X-craft has a special company mandate for environmental and humanitarian missions.
